Caser is a leading company in the insurance market with more than 2 million customers. Founded in 1942, it is a very solid company with a wide and consolidated range of products and services. Caser is currently part of the Swiss multinational Helvetia. The company offers a wide range of insurance products, including car, home, health and life insurance, updating its offer to the evolution of demand with products such as assistance and civil liability such as assistance and civil liability insurance for pets. In addition, Caser has diversified its business by entering other markets such as homes for the elderly (Caser Residencial), hospitals (Hospitales Parque) and financial advice (Caser Asesores Financieros).

Caser stands out for its experience and solidity, thanks to its long history in the sector and its commitment to quality service. In addition to its wide range of products adapted to cover different risks and customer profiles. To which we must add its innovative nature, both in designing new products and in consolidating its processes and operations through innovative solutions.

The challenge

Caser sells fleet insurance, a type of policy designed to cover vehicles within a single framework (standard fleets, rental fleets, used vehicle fleets, etc.). This type of insurance offers a specific coverage configuration for all vehicles in the fleet, simplifying management and potentially being more cost-effective than insuring each vehicle individually.

Given the increasing demand for this type of insurance, for example, with the constant increase in vehicle leasing options, Caser has a tool that allows it to improve its fleet policy management system. The company must configure insurance for car fleets, rentals, and used vehicles, among others.

The complexity of generating each policy with its guarantees, coverages and other configurable elements required the evolution of the tool in order to facilitate management, making it more agile, efficient and secure. Each fleet has thousands of vehicles with annually renewable insurance, so it is necessary to have a technologically advanced system that accurately automates part of this operation.

Initially, to carry out this work, it was necessary to carry out a migration of all the systems involved in the new architecture defined by Caser’s systems department. This implied, on the part of Delonia Software, a detailed knowledge of the different technologies, environments and infrastructures of Caser, allowing Delonia Software to apply improvements in all the processes involved in the life cycle of the project.

Insurance by definition is a complex business where pricing and contracting must take into account the multiple particularities of each risk. In addition, each fleet has its own peculiarities and is governed by parameters and elements that Caser must take into account.

The project spanned a year and a half, always based on a constant and fluid relationship between the Caser team, led by Ignacio Bosquet and Roger Jeanneau, and the Delonia Software technicians. Roger’s work ethic and technical knowledge were another key factor in achieving the desired objectives. The ongoing communication between the Caser and Delonia Software teams, as well as the technical expertise of the Delonia Software team, adapting to and resolving all technical issues, were key to the successful completion of the project.

The solution

The collaboration between the Caser team led by Ignacio Bosquet and Roger Jeanneau and the Delonia Software engineers made it possible to update and improve Caser’s fleet website. The result is a much more fluid, complete and automated fleet web system. Among others, it has the following functionalities:

  • Vehicle fraud control (vehicles deregistered with the Directorate General of Traffic and vehicles declared as total losses).
  • Fraud control for individuals/legal entities (non-payments).
  • License plate verification with the DGT (Directorate General of Traffic).
  • Automation of annual fleet renewal processes with warranty updates.
  • Expansion of the issuance of supplements for all types of fleets (modifications to risk insurance).
  • Fleet issuance by brokers: expansion of the options available to brokers (printing documentation, supplements, etc.).
  • Management of documentation printing for brokers and Caser staff.

In short, Caser’s fleet management tool was substantially improved. With this tool, Caser has once again positioned itself as a leading company in the insurance sector, capable of providing technological solutions to all its insurance and services customers.
