Delonia has been awarded the contract in the public tender process initiated in 2023 for the implementation of an approved digital prescription platform for Mutualia. The award decision was published on 9 January 2024. It involves the implementation and provision of services through a digital prescription system that will enable prescriptions to be issued from Mutualia centers for digital dispensing in any pharmacy in Spain.

This allocation represents an important step in the digitalization of Mutualia’s healthcare services. This will facilitate the work of health professionals and will allow them to provide better and more agile care to mutualists, with all the security guarantees provided by an approved digital prescription.

Since 2005, Mutualia has been the leading mutual insurance company in the Basque Country and is active throughout Spain. It collaborates with the Social Security in the management of health services, economic benefits and dissemination of prevention, aimed at companies, their employees and other clients.

Mutualia concentrates its activity in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, where, according to data for the year 2022, 94.14% of the population it covers is located there, and therefore all Mutualia’s own healthcare centers are located there. In total, has 18 of its own healthcare centers, including 3 hospitals, 13 healthcare centers and 2 administrative centers. Patients treated outside Mutualia’s facilities receive health care at public health service centers, other collaborating mutual insurance companies and private health centers.

The implementation of the Digital Private Prescription is part of its Digital Transformation Plan which, since 2018, has been promoting the deployment of modern and innovative technologies and infrastructures, allowing it to be at the forefront of information and communication systems.

Since 2005, Mutualia has been the leading mutual insurance company in the Basque Country and is active throughout Spain.

The recipe to be implemented by Delonia will provide Mutualia with a fully digital solution, with three important aspects to highlight:

On the one hand, Mutualia’s digital prescription will have all the functionalities and requirements demanded for prescription systems and repositories approved by the General Council of Official Medical Associations, which implies:

  1. It strictly complies with the requirements for medical prescriptions established in the current regulations on medical prescriptions and dispensing orders.
  2. It has full guarantees of security in the access and transmission of information, as well as protection of the confidentiality of personal data.

On the other hand, Mutualia’s digital prescription will have very different functionalities that provide healthcare professionals with a privileged framework of security for their own healthcare work and that of their patients. Thus, it will have all the pharmacological information of ViDAL Vademecum, with easy access from the prescription itself to all drug references, as well as its integrated alarm system to warn about contraindications, interactions or problems with dosage levels, among others.

Finally, it is important to highlight that Delonia’s work is not aimed at providing closed products, but solutions that are tailored to your customers’ needs, incremental and adaptable to new needs: for example, ease of integration with enrollment of professionals or management of invoicing or liquidation to pharmacies.

With this agreement, Delonia increases its presence in the national market and consolidates its position as a strategic provider of health services for the main insurance companies and mutual insurance companies in the country. Our company has been working on digitalization projects, transversal technological solutions and integration of services since 2010.
